Allergies, Elizabeth is Departing, Hiring Cleaner & Laundry Volunteer [April ’25 Newsletter]

Spring is here !
The trees are starting to bloom and flowers from bulbs dormant over the winter are popping up everywhere. The sun is staying up later and daylight savings is making the days even longer. Spring is also a great time for gardening and being active outdoors, if your body is achy from the new activity come get a treatment at ACUPUNCTURE FOR THE PEOPLE.

ALLERGY SEASON
The sunny weather is making the trees bloom and release their pollen. If you suffer from seasonal allergies, acupuncture can help! Beginning treatment a few weeks before symptoms start can help build up your immune system and delay the onset of your allergies. That means a shorter allergy season with milder symptoms and less sensitivity to allergens. If you’re allergic to tree pollen – start treatments now! (Grass pollen sufferers should begin acupuncture in May.) You can check the local levels at www.pollen.com, just enter your zip code.

ELIZABETH IS DEPARTING
One of our excellent POCATech Interns Elizabeth Ribiero is suspending her hours at the clinic to deal with a personal matter, we wish her the best. In the meantime, her shift on Friday Mornings will be covered by Rob Singer L.Ac. Unfortunately, the student price will no longer apply during that shift, but you can still book appointments with Intern Renee Taylor on Tuesday afternoons.

WE’RE HIRING A NEW OFFICE CLEANER
We’re looking for new OFFICE CLEANER, It’s just 5-6 hours a week split between two days and all the supplies are provided. Cleaning needs to be done when the office is closed, so the ideal candidate will be available to work early mornings, evenings and/or weekends. This is a paid position and includes free acupuncture treatments. If you’re interested in the position, let us know and we can send you the application.

LAUNDRY VOLUNTEER NEEDED
We go through a lot of blankets every day and need help getting all the washing done. There’s 2-4 loads that need to be done each week and we provide soap and supplies. We ask the laundry be done in a pet-free environment due to possible allergies. Volunteers receive free treatments for their contribution, let us know if you’re interested.
