Big changes are coming to Amazon Parkway in Eugene next week. The city plans to close the parkway for several weeks starting Monday, Jan. 21, as construction crews work on the Civic Park project at the old Civic Stadium site.
The parkway will be closed between East 19th and 24th avenues so crews can remove the road surface, place new stormwater and wastewater lines and remove the pedestrian crossing bridge that spans Amazon Parkway, according to Eugene Public Works.
The parkway closure could last until Thursday, Feb. 7. Expect delays as traffic is diverted and plan extra time to arrive for your appointment.
During the parkway closure, southbound traffic will be diverted from Pearl Street to Patterson Street via East 18th Avenue. East 19th Avenue will remain open during the project.
Northbound traffic will be diverted from Amazon Parkway south of 24th Avenue onto Willamette Street, via 24th.
The closure will be continuous, in place 24 hours a day.
